Farmers and Business Forum

Objective

“To provide support and advice to young people across Norfolk who aspire to set up and run their own business.”

This objective will be delivered through the:

  • The Growing Programme: Building on the individual’s capacity to deal with problems and explore ideas.
  • Growing Business Award: Provide real opportunities to help the individual or groups create a business through support, advice and funding.

Application Process

To apply for the Growing Business Award you must be a full member of The Farmers and Business Forum (FBF) and attend the Growing Programme or be a graduate of the Growing Programme. To become a member of FBF you should fit the following criteria:

  • Aged between 20 and 35 years old (If you fall outside this age range and can prove you would benefit from the programme discretion may be used).
  • Live or work within Norfolk
  • Aspire to run or establish your own business.

Step 1:

Contact Michael Mack on 01603 748844 or mmack@easton.ac.uk for an initial meeting about the programme and how it works.

Step 2:

Complete and application form and apply for membership of Norfolk Young Farmers, this will cost £10 per year and will cover insurance and some administration costs). Your details will be added to all correspondence and you will be invited to all arranged activities.

Partners

The FBF has been established jointly by the Norfolk Rural Business Advice Service and the Norfolk Federation of Young Farmers, with support from Easton College.

The Department for Environment Farming and Rural Affairs has established through the Fresh Start Programme a network of Fresh Start Academies. The FBF is associated with this network.

Funding for individual activities has been secured from a range of partners including the Norfolk Farmers Charitable Trust and Rackham Trust
