EEDA have issued three tenders for training in the land based sector. NRBAS is working with a consortium of industry organisations to tender for this work. • Project 1 – Co-ordination o This project will work to co-ordinate all delivery within the skills programme and to develop more effective links between the agri food sector and mainstream skills provision. o The maximum value of this project will be £200,000 of RDPE funding. o In addition bidders must identify match funding equivalent to a minimum of 30% of the total project costs proposed.• Project 2 – Vocational Skills o This project will focus on the acquisition of vocational skills within the agri-food sector through the development of skills for farming, small scale food production and rural crafts. o The maximum value of this project will be £1,100,000 of RDPE funding. o In addition bidders must identify match funding equivalent to a minimum of 30% of the total project costs proposed. o It is anticipated that most bids will be received from consortia which can offer an appropriate mix of in depth sectoral expertise and regional coverage. o A minimum target of 5,000 training days will be required from this component of the programme. • Project 3 – Higher Level Skills o This project will focus on the acquisition of higher level technical and managerial skills within the agri-food sector through the development of skills for crop and livestock enterprises, water management, international trade and entrepreneurship. In addition, delivery will support technology transfer by making sure that provision is linked to the latest thinking and research to support a World Class agri-food sector in the region. o The maximum value of this project will be £3,200,000 of RDPE funding. o In addition bidders must identify match funding equivalent to a minimum of 30% of the total project costs proposed. o It is anticipated that most bids will be received from consortia which can offer an appropriate mix of in depth sectoral expertise and regional coverage. o A minimum target of 12,000 training days will be required from this component of the programme.
