The Norfolk Rural Shops Alliance (a partnership of Institute of Food Research, Produced in Norfolk, Post Office, Rural Gateway, East Anglain Food Link, South Norfolk Council, NRBAS, Norfolk County Council and Shaping Norfolk’s Future) identified that this type of support is needed by rural businesses across Norfolk. As a result of successfully securing grant support for RENS from LEADER+ for the area of South Norfolk, the NRSA felt that the benefits of the programme should be expanded across Norfolk. |
If you are interested in receiving the grant and or the consultancy support please contact Chris on 01603 731258. NRBAS will then visit your business and undertake a SWOT analysis of the business. This will result in a short action plan being developed. The action plan will identify opportunities and threats to the business and will identify if either grant support or consultancy support is suitable. The adviser will work with you to select a consultant and/or apply for the grant support. You will then follows one of two paths: 1) Consultancy support: The NRBAS adviser will provide a list of potential consultancies; you selects the best one for the specific issue. The project will provide funding for the business to employ the consultant for a maximum of two days. This support will have to be delivered during a six week period. The consultant will submit an invoice for his work to NRBAS with a summary report on the work completed and its outcomes. NRBAS will then pay the consultant for the work. 2) Grant support: The NRBAS adviser will talk through the funding options to the business and if the planed expenditure fits with the grant rules, the business will be provided with a simple grant application form. While the NRBAS adviser will support the business in completing this form, it will be the responsibility of the business to complete it and submit it to NRBAS. A panel of judges will be e-mailed the applications and asked to provide an assessment of the project and its suitability for funding. If the application is successful the business will be issued with an offer letter and authorised to proceed with the project. On completion of the project the business will submit a completion form with the paid invoice and NRBAS will issue payment to the business. NRBAS aims to make the process as fast and simple as possible.
